OOO-LA-LA Beauty Products!

Today I am linking up with Kelly for "Show Us Your Life- Favorite Beauty Products

I am one of those people who always enjoys trying new things but I also have a handful of products that I can NOT live without...

1)Benefit "Hello Flawless"
I love this foundation as a foundation and powder... I can apply it super quick and it doesn't fade much throughout the day.  I also hate when my face feels greezy from too much makeup and with this foundation it feels more like powder.  I would say medium coverage which I like (it still hides my freckles ;) ) This stuff is pricey... but its worth it to me (about 35 dollars and lasts about 3-6 months)

2)Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask
oh.my.goodness! This stuff has been a life saver for me!!
I love my hair and want to keep it looking as healthy as possible!
I have had a couple terrible hair fiasco's and this always saves the day! I use it ALL the time and it smells suppper nice on top of leaving your hair silky smooth!! I could not live without this stuff!  (oh and its relatively inexpensive!)
3)TIGI Catwalk Fast-Fixx leave-in hair conditioner
as you can see from above statement I love my conditioners... I do not love when you can tell there is product on your hair. I hate when my hair feels weighed down from a product.  I use this after every hair wash and it helps me get the tangles out and never leaves residue on my  hair.  The price is a little steep but a bottle of this will last me about 4-6 months!

4) Ponds Wet Cleansing Towellets- Evening Soothe with Chamomile and White Tea
I am terrible about washing my face daily (read: I rarely wash my face). There are many a night I end up sleeping in my makeup which I know is just horrible for your skin.  I have always loved the face wipes that I can use without having to be at the sink and usually live by them.  I have been using the wal-mart brand ones for years and honestly thing they are great and 1/2 the price of the name brand ones... BUT ... a few months ago I received a package of these in my Target free sample bag... and let me tell you-- the smell hooked me! They don't work any better or worse than the Wal-Mart brand but boy do they smell sooo good! If your one for good smelling products I warn you before you try these out ;) They are still pretty inexpensive (around 5 dollars for a pack of 30).

5) Cover Girl Perfect Point Plus- Mechanical pencil Eye-liner
If you were to give me only one makeup item to wear for the rest of my life... this might be it. Goes on smooth and stays put :) Perfect in my eyes ;) ha! It is about 7 dollars but you can usually find them buy one get one free or half off....

I hope that you all enjoy my "Beauty Products"... let me know if you try any of these out or have any recommendations of your own... I always love trying new products!

i was gonna...but then...ugh!

well I was going to do my 29 week post today (a day or 2 late) but I am really exhausted so I think I will wait and do it when I have more energy... I'm in a state of BLAH right now and maybe its just because I'm tired... lets hope anyways!
this is totally NOT depressing because life can be so much worse but i am a little sad that I found my first few stretch marks on my belly tonight! I thought I had a scratch on my tummy and after looking closer I noticed there were 4 on the left of my belly button down low. then I just had to look again and find a couple of more on the right side.  I didn't think i was exempt from these bad boys but I really don't feel like my belly is 1/2 as large as it is going to be (according to what everyone tells me) so now I am a little freaked out that my tummy is going to look like a huge maze by the time this is all said and "done".  Oh the things we do for our little angels :) Love you Raleigh Grace and I will endure as many as these horrid things needed as to make your home the most cozy and nurturing place it can be :)
Okay, done with my rant. {ill spare you pics of this hah}

oh! yesterday, I spent an hour or two attempting to make some hair bows for Raleigh Grace-- let me just tell you- it wasn't as easy as I had expected... but I did end up with one or two "cute" ones... I really have a long ways to go though! ha {my cousin was helping me and at one point said, I think I'll just end up buying some bows... she might have the right idea! ha} I dont have any pics right now but will take some and post soon.

tomorrow, off to get my hair done. i always get nervous when I am getting anything done to my hair and this time is no different.  I'm just getting the highlights touched up, i hope i dont end up with orange hair... eek! I also am trying to finalize some "outfits" for my maternity shoot later this week.  i am terrible at picking out cute things and TOTALLY miss having roommates to pick out my outfits for me :(  I need to get some cute shoes and accessories tomorrow but I dont have the money to buy some for 100 different outfits... do you see my dilemma? ha!
{See, I told you I'm tired and just ranting away...}

good part of the day/night: hanging out with my friend heather, lunch with my stepmom at Oasis... mmm!, dinner- pizza with my stepmom and uncle glen who was in town, then bachelorette (which obama had to interrupt with his speech about the debt crisis... seriously, he should have done that speech earlier not in the middle of my show!ha)

I'll be back in a better mood shortly ;) promise!! gnite ya'll!

PS-- I'm totally a JP fan :)

Weekend Wrap Up

Okay sorry for the 100 updates today but I am dying to be caught up (which I will accomplish by THIS week!) :)

I felt I had to post about the last couple of days...

I have been dying to dye (ha) my hair but I haven't been able to decide what on earth to do with it.  Well finally, I decided I would get some minimal highlights put in it.
Friday, I went to Toni & Guy and spent most of my night there getting my partial highlights done.  I LOVE IT!! I seriously had been in a MAJOR slump with my hair and HATED how it looked every time I went to the mirror.  The color was just yuck! Now it looks like I am ready for summer and I even feel better about myself & my looks- I am not shallow but I had just been getting down on myself for looking .... um... gross. ha! (I know it was not that bad to everyone else but I saw it).
Here is a not-so-great picture of the success!
see the blonde up top?

Saturday I slept in *yay* and had lunch with K.  Then Sat night I met up with my neighbor and some friends for my first game of BUNCO!  I have to say I had a BLAST and I even won BIG!! :) Its a great game to get a group together and play once a month or so *thats what they all do-- I was a sub last night*  But good times good times!

This morning K & I had planned on going to my besties for her baby shower and I was super excited about seeing her and their new house! K was pumped to hang out with her hubby too!  Unfortunately, I woke up feeling icky this am.  :( it was def no way to spend a 5 1/2 hour car ride so we opted out.  :( I hope you had a great day, Erin! I missed you and your baby *& B* a ton *so did karl* but we hope to see you soon!

This afternoon K & I were just laying around watching basketball GO DUKE and flipping between the race when our doorbell rang.  Our sweet little next door neighbor who isnt quite 2 was banging on the door :)  We went outside and talked to his mommy and grandma for some time and ended up they invited us over for dinner! Jeremy grilled up some amaaazing pork chops along with some potatoes, pasta, bread, green beans, corn, and maaaan! it was delish! After dinner we were sitting around talking when we realized the not quite 2 year old was missing... we knew he was up to no good!  When we finally found him-- he was sitting in the empty bathtub (he had already gotten his bath for the night earlier) in his PJ's, covered in liquid baby soap and shampoo.  he had it all over his clothes and in his hair.  It was quite the hoot.

Tomorrow- back to the grind-- only 10 more weeks and 3 days until summer (not that I am counting) hahahahah

Hope you all enjoy your Monday! Prayers that I make it through this week aliiiive :) Love to all my blogging friends :)

Haircuts stress me out!

I'm not sure why but every time I get my hair cut it stresses me out and I am almost NEVER happy with the outcome immediately after the fact.  I could spend 100 dollars or 20 and I am still NOT satisfied.
So instead of spending my usual 70-100 dollars to be unhappy my husband has convinced me to go the 20 dollar route for haircuts that are minor (trims, etc). So this weekend I was getting desperate- it has been nearly 4 months, my ends were so split that they tangled 5 seconds after brushing so despite my efforts to grow my hair out (that grows sooooo slow) I caved and headed to Great Clips.  A haircut is 15 dollars I think and a shampoo is about 5... or less.  I asked the lady to cut one inch. she said okay and then asked if she could cut 3. (um hello, did I say 3!? So I told her no and said she could take one and a half... she still cut 3 inches off.) I also just asked her to leave my layers alone to which she asked if she could cut them shorter and I reply no- she does it anyways.
Needless to say I left there happy that I had finally cut my hair and only managed to spend 21 dollars (I tipped more than a dollar so I might have inflated their prices a little...).  My hair was still 1/2 wet so I went home and dried it.  I wasn't happy but again I wasn't distressed over spending 100 dollars this time.
BUT
then today I actually did my own hair and I must admit that it looks great! It looks so much healthier and feels so much softer and healthier--  I love it!!
Why do I always stress out when getting a haircut when a couple of days later I always seem to grow into liking it...
Does anyone else out there stress out over haircuts? I hope I'm not alone on this! ha! {Maybe I have issues...lol}

sorry the pic quality isn't that great but you get the idea :)

Shhhh!! It's a Secret!

Okay so first of all, SHHH! This is a secret!

So all of you remember when a few weeks ago I posted "Cast your vote now" about whether I should keep my current blonde hair or go with the darker brunette that I had back when.  My husband is ALL about me having dark hair again.  Thats the color it was when he met me so I'm thinking that may have something to do with it??  I know that many of you liked the blonde better (as do I currently- but I like both just fine) but he realllllly reallllly wants me to have dark hair again.  I'm doing it- I'm going to dye my hair brown.

Here are a few reasons for dying my hair.

  • I already made a promise that I would have dark hair for my wedding.....&.....
  • We are soon going to take some engagement style pics (I hope) and I want my hair to be the same color in those pics as my wedding day pics (make sense?)
  • Its winter... now is the time to go darker... we are having a summer wedding and I think it might be weird (or just a little "emo" as daddy used to tell me) to dye my hair dark in the middle of the summer.
  • Dying my hair will most likely make it look a little healthier, and is not as bad for your hair as highlighting
  • Dying hair is WAY cheaper than highlighting it. (hundreds of dollars vs. 50 dollars)
  • MOST of all, I want to surprise my hubby and make him go nuts (because I know he will). ha!
So there are some of the reasons I am MAKING THE JUMP!  I just got off the phone with the hair place that I swore I would never go to again, but they always DYED my hair when it was dark and I was always happy with it.  I'm mad that I am giving them business after this terrible hair fiasco I had this summer... but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do... and like my friend Jen said... Toni & Guy tend to be hit and miss ... hopefully today is a HIT! (I know it will be, the lady doing it has been doing one of my friends hair for almost 3 years and she has dyed mine before.)

So 2pm today I will be heading to get my new "do!" Im freakishly nervous... don't know why... maybe because I'm surprising my man, maybe because my hair is already so damaged thanks to that "terrible hair fiasco", maybe because I'm still not 100% sure that I want dark hair ... but I'm making taking the leap!
The hubby is at work and by the time he gets home to read this he will have already see my hair and hopefully be blown away! haha Be sure to check back later today for some new pictures :) YAY!

Am I a blonde or a brunette?

Choice A) Blonde:

Choice B) Brunette:
